Lego Cake

Yesterday we celebrated my husband and younger sister's birthdays. My sister Terra made a carrot cake and I made a chocolate Lego cake.

My husband loves to build Lego towers with the kids, so I thought I'd try it out.

The raised areas are marshmallows cut in 1/2, and frosted.

I do have to say that I love chocolate cake, but it's harder to frost. I has only a thin slice of the carrot cake my sister made. It was yummy! She made it with applesauce. It had a limited amount of sugar in it.

*A side note. I stepped on the scale yesterday, and found out that I've lost 20 pounds since the summer! It doesn't really look like I have. I've lost it all over, and not in one spot. My mom says that's the healthiest way.

Tips:
1. Exercise 30 minutes a day.
2. Watch what you eat. I've really reduced my sugar intake. We use a natural plant sugar.
3. We use a lot of whole wheat wraps. Costco sells whole wheat wraps with added flax seed.
4. I've taken fruity yogurt out of my diet. I eat only plain with added fruit. I even use it as a sour cream.
5. I put oat meal in a lot of things. I grind it up and put it in meat.
6. I eat a lot of veggies. I'm even going to start eating some for breakfast as weird as that sounds. They are the best thing to eat.
7. I water down my juice.
8. I eat breakfast on my kid's dishes. Smaller servings. Drink out of their cup for morning juice.
9. Do morning tasks, while snacking on my breakfast.
